Online Proscar (Finasteride)
Urology & Urinary • Educational only; not medical advice. Prescriptions at clinician discretion.

Overview
Proscar also contains Finasteride, but at a 5 mg dose. It is approved to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) by reducing prostate size through inhibition of DHT formation.
Uses
Indicated for symptomatic BPH—reducing urinary frequency, urgency, and nocturia, and lowering risk of urinary retention or surgery.Dosage & Administration
Typical dose: 5 mg once daily, with or without food. Continuous use for at least 6 months may be required for maximum benefit.Side Effects & Warnings
Sexual side effects are similar to Propecia. Additional effects include decreased ejaculatory volume and rare breast tenderness. Finasteride reduces prostate-specific antigen (PSA) by about 50%, potentially masking prostate-cancer detection.Patient Considerations
Men taking Proscar should inform healthcare providers about PSA-altering effects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must not handle tablets.Ready for next steps?
